Federico Rosei becomes Academician of the World Academy of Ceramics

Federico Rosei, professor and director of the INRS Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications Research Centre, has received yet another major international distinction for his remarkable contribution to ceramic materials. He has been invited to become a member of the prestigious World Academy of Ceramics as an Academician in the Science class. 
 
 
Dr. Rosei, who holds the Canada Research Chair in Nanostructured Materials and the UNESCO Chair in Materials and Technologies for Energy Conversion, Saving and Storage, is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking research in the synthesis and characterization of various classes of nanoscale functional materials. His work has led to major advances in solar, optoelectronic and biomedical technologies. 
 
His work has been acclaimed through numerous instances of peer recognition, both nationally and internationally. For example, Dr. Rosei recently received the Outstanding Engineer Award from IEEE Canada, the President’s Fellowship for Distinguished Scientists from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the John C. Polanyi Award from the Chemical Institute of Canada, and a Fulbright Chair at the University of California, Los Angeles.  
 
Dr. Rosei will receive his Academy diploma on June 5, 2018, during the inaugural session of the 14th International Ceramics Congress to be held in Perugia, Italy. He was one of 20 candidates selected from around the world by the World Academy of Ceramics in 2017. 
 
Founded in 1987 in Italy, the World Academy of Ceramics aims to promote progress in the field of ceramics. Every two years it honours individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of ceramics culture, science, and technology.
