Within the framework of its 2017 budget and to commemorate Canada's 150th anniversary, the federal government is making available to the eligible university establishments, high-level research chairs to enhance the reputation of Canada as a world center of excellence in science, research and innovation. The Canada 150 Research Chairs Program provides for a one-time investment wich allow the Canadian educational establishments, within the framework of an open competition, to attract to Canada academics and leading researchers who working abroad (including Canadian expatriates).
In this context, INRS, which wishes to increase its own research capabilities, will accept applications from outstanding candidates active in one of the research disciplines of its four centers, with the aim of presenting two candidates within the framework of the Canada 150 Research Chairs Program competition. Thus, INRS intends to propose the creation of two chairs, each worth $7M over 7 years.

Requirements and particular skills
• Present an exceptional record of research realizations;
• Demonstrate internationally acknowledged leadership in the candidate’s field of expertise;
• Be capable of working on a team and within networks from a multidisciplinary perspective, while collaborating with representatives from various organizations;
• Possess aptitudes for teaching and for supervising graduate students and post-doctoral researchers, as well as directing research staff.
Eligibility of the candidates
Only candidates who are working abroad, including Canadian expatriates, are eligible to apply.
