Hydrology

Canada has close to 9% of the world’s freshwater resources. Sustainably managing this vital resource is a priority for our researchers.

Faculty at the INRS study topics related to storm water, drinking water, and water infrastructure, aquatic habitat quality, climate evolution, and the impact of climate change on coastal processes, wetlands, and ice coverage.

Our research teams draw on extensive experience in the development and application of digital strategies, including statistical methods and deterministic models, to design analytical and decision-making tools for a wide variety of applications, using hydroinformatics, geomatics, and remote sensing.
