The Canada Research Chair in Family Financial Experiences and Wealth Inequality<\/a> is dedicated to studying wealth inequality and the relationship that families have to saving, debt, and wealth transfer.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Context<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The chair led by Professor Pugliese explores wealth inequality, taking the familial aspect of property ownership into account. It has a particular focus on documenting wealth disparities by factors such as class, gender, race, ethnicity, and citizenship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

While we know a lot about income and pay inequalities, less is known about wealth distribution in Quebec, not least because appropriate data on this subject are scarce. Given that, the team is developing innovative techniques for measuring wealth, using both quantitative and qualitative analysis, in order to fill in the gaps in existing research.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To develop more research angles, the researchers are compiling data on aging, financial literacy, and constraints on savings and credit products in the financial markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
