The IEEE Student Branch of the INRS EMT Research Centre was selected as the best branch in Montreal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

For the second year in a row, the student group at INRS \u00c9nergie Mat\u00e9riaux T\u00e9l\u00e9communications (EMT) Research Centre <\/a>receives the award for the best student branch of the Montreal section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) <\/a>among four other branches from Concordia, ETS, McGill and Polytechnique. The announcement was made on December 1st<\/sup> at the 2021 general annual ceremony. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

IEEE Student Branches <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Montreal Section of the IEEE has close to 2,000 members in the greater Montreal area, Estrie, Laurentides, Abitibi-T\u00e9miscamingue and Nord-du-Qu\u00e9bec, all professionals and students in the fields of electrical, electronics, and computer engineering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These branches aim at helping students to have a better academic experience and to achieve their career goals. Each branch organizes technical workshops and presentations, in addition to soft skills workshops and competitions to help students network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI am absolutely impressed by their dedication over the years, marked by hard work and enthusiasm,\u201d concludes Professor Roberto Morandotti, who specializes in nonlinear optics and in the micro and nanofabrication of structures for photonics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The IEEE Student Branch at INRS would like to thank everyone who contributed to these successes! The group is also looking for volunteers to fill some positions for the coming year.
