class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>For candidates with a background in organometallic chemistry<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This interdisciplinary <em>metals in medicine<\/em> project aims at the design of organometallic complexes and the study of their potential as catalysts and therapeutic agents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project consists in:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the synthesis and the characterization of various organic, inorganic or organometallic complexes under inert atmosphere using glovebox and Schlenk techniques,&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>their characterization using tools such as nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry and single crystal X-ray diffraction, as well as&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the evaluation of their reactivity in biological settings. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More details about the project will be discussed with the href=\"https:\/\/inrs.ca\/en\/research\/professors\/annie-castonguay\/\">Annie Castonguay<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-program\">Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This research project will be achieved as part of a postdoctoral internship<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-profile\">Profile<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to meeting the university\u2019s requirements for postdoctoral trainees, the candidate should:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Hold a PhD degree in CHEMISTRY (or equivalent);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ability to supervise students of all levels;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be open to collaborating with an interdisciplinary team;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participate in the writing of scientific articles;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Present his or her results in the form of oral and poster presentations, as well as reports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Applicants with knowledge or experience in some or all of the following areas are encouraged to apply:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Inorganic\/organometallic synthetic chemistry (ability to work under inert atmosphere would be an asset);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Metals in medicine;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organometallic catalysis;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cell culture;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Purification of compounds using various chromatographic methods;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Characterization of compounds using nuclear magnetic resonance, mass spectrometry and single crystal X-ray diffraction;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Considerable knowledge of the English language (spoken and written).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-financial-support\">Financial support<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">INRS offers&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/inrs.ca\/en\/studies\/scholarships-and-financial-aid\/\">financial support<\/a>&nbsp;to its postdoctoral trainees.
