See our thematic report “the many faces of artificial intelligence”.
With movies like Blade Runner and Terminator, the world of science fiction has taken hold of the notion of artificial intelligence. Even if we are far from Hollywood’s portrayal, scientific research in this field is truly impressive.
Beyond fiction, the unique expertise in artificial intelligence at INRS applies to several disciplines. Biomedicine, photonics, wireless technologies and multisensory media are just some of the areas of expertise of our researchers, who are working on speech recognition, disease detection by analyzing coughs or immersive Internet. Others are working on the use of light and its properties to increase computing speed.
Discover the progress of this field of study and its multiple applications in environmental and medical studies, as well as the issues it raises, in terms of both data management and its effects on world of work.
