The Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS), in collaboration with McGill University and the Center for Research and Advanced Studies (CINVESTAV) in Mexico, welcomed a delegation of ten Mexican researchers specialized in materials science, earlier this month.

This initiative is the result of the institutional mission carried out in November 2024 by the INRS International Office in Mexico aimed at strengthening scientific cooperation ties with CINVESTAV.

“We are delighted to welcome our colleagues from CINVESTAV to this symposium, which promises to yield significant benefits in terms of scientific collaboration and joint training, particularly through the development of joint supervision projects,”

Philippe-Edwin Bélanger, Director of the INRS International Office.

Joséphine Nalbantoglu, Dean of Graduate Studies at McGill University, added: “This symposium illustrates our shared commitment to promoting the internationalization of research and providing our students with enriching opportunities for intercultural and scientific collaboration.”

“This initiative strengthens our ties with our Quebec partners and opens up new opportunities for cooperation in cutting-edge research, while supporting student and faculty mobility.”

Martha Espinosa, Executive Vice-Rector of CINVESTAV

The symposium will enable researchers from Canada and Mexico to share their expertise, explore common areas of research, and lay the groundwork for future international projects.
