Project (conditional on funding)

Environmental flows are “the quantity, timing, quality, and level of freshwater necessary to maintain aquatic ecosystems, which in turn support cultural diversity, the economy, sustainable livelihoods, and human well-being.” The project consists of applying and comparing different methods for estimating environmental flows (hydrological and hydraulic methods, habitat models) on several rivers in Quebec. Several modelling tools will be used to determine the relevance of the different approaches in the regional context of Quebec.
