“We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely acknowledge the support of the faculty, administration, and student members and our speakers who helped us with this achievement.”

Moein Noferesti, Chair of the IEEE Student Branch of INRS-EMT and Ph.D. student at INRS-EMT

IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to the advancement of technology for the benefit of humankind. Its primary objective is to foster technological innovation and excellence. This is therefore an important recognition for the INRS student branch team.

“Definitely, this would not have been possible without the efforts of our volunteering team and the support of our advisor, Professor Roberto Morandotti.”

IEEE Student Branches

The Montreal Section of the IEEE has close to 2,000 members in the greater Montreal area, Estrie, Laurentides, Abitibi-Témiscamingue and Nord-du-Québec, all professionals and students in the fields of electrical, electronics, and computer engineering.

These branches aim at helping students to have a better academic experience and to achieve their career goals. Each branch organizes technical workshops and presentations, in addition to soft skills workshops and competitions to help students network.

“I am absolutely impressed by their dedication over the years, marked by hard work and enthusiasm,” concludes Professor Roberto Morandotti, who specializes in nonlinear optics and in the micro and nanofabrication of structures for photonics.

The IEEE Student Branch at INRS would like to thank everyone who contributed to these successes! The group is also looking for volunteers to fill some positions for the coming year. If you have any questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact them.
