Research interests

  • Valorization of lignocellulosic waste (from agriculture and forestry) in a biorefinery concept into biofuels (bioethanol, biodiesel, biomethane, etc.) and biosourced materials (glues, resins and thermal/acoustic insulation foam) based on lignin and tannins.
  • Valorization of fermentable agro-industrial waste into value-added bioproducts (biopesticides, bioplastics, enzymes, biosurfactants, etc.) followed by their formulation for different applications.
  • Extraction of essential oils from agri-food waste, and their bioproduction and biotransformation through microbial fermentation.
  • Extraction of molecules of interest from macro-algae using ecological (green) processes and solid fermentation of waste obtained after extraction.
