Research interests
Professor Ouarda’s work focuses on local and regional estimation of extreme hydrological events, hydrological forecasting, design of measurement networks, analysis of the spatial and temporal variability of hydrological variables, modelling of the impact of climate change on hydrometeorological variables, homogenization of data series, modelling of uncertainties, risk, and reliability in hydrology, analysis of water resource systems, flood damage estimation, and evolution of hydrological regimes.
Professor Ouarda also develops tools to assist in the design of hydraulic structures and in statistical hydrology in northern environments, mainly concerning the influence of ice cover on the design of upstream reservoirs or forebays and the analysis of hydrological variables in northern environments in a climate change context.
