Project description
Interferon-γ (IFN-γ) is a pleiotropic cytokine that is produced in response to intracellular infections. While all nucleated cells express the IFN-γ receptor, their capacity to respond to IFN-γ signalling varies depending on the cell type. Immune cells like macrophages respond quickly to stimulation while non-immune cell types like intestinal epithelials exhibit a delayed responsiveness. This project aims to uncover the basis for this effect, using cell and molecular biology approaches.
