Description

Contribution to the vision and guiding principles of the 2021–2026 Outremont cultural development plan, Borough of Outremont.

Member of the Borough of Outremont expert committee from 2019 to 2021.

Target audience

Elected officials and people in charge of culture, citizens, cultural organizations and institutions in the Borough of Outremont.

Co-construction or partnership

Support for the borough and Artenso, the organization responsible for developing and drafting the plan: work sessions, discussions.

Médiation culturelle en contexte interculturel :
Susciter la rencontre en bibliothèque entre les personnes immigrantes nouvellement arrivées et la collectivité d’accueil (in French only)

Description

Co-organization of a day of exploration and sharing of expertise in a one-time community of practice focusing on cultural mediation approaches and practices in intercultural contexts, and more specifically on projects to foster interaction and relationships between immigrant newcomers and the host community: presentation of empirical cases, academic discussion between two professors, guided tour of an exhibition, workshops in subgroups to develop a toolkit, group discussion.

Le cinéma québécois dans l’environnement collégial

Description

As co-investigator with Marianne Gravel (lead investigator, professor at Cégep Garneau), carried out research on the educational potential of Québec cinema for college students, its relationship to cultural citizenship, and its impact on identity and society.

Cultural content discovery practices and digital environments

Description

Conducted research with a team of colleagues and students from INRS and other universities (Nathalie Casemajor, François R. Derbas Thibodeau, Caroline Granger, Romuald Jamet, Lily-Cannelle Mathieu, Jonathan Roberge, Andréanne Rousseau, Joseph Rozenkopf, Claudie Saulnier, and Kim Truchon) on cultural content discovery practices in Québec, in partnership with Ministère de la Culture et des Communications and Observatoire de la culture et des communications du Québec.

As part of this project—through an internship with Chaire Fernand-Dumont sur la culture completed by Lily-Cannelle Mathieu, a master’s student in Knowledge Mobilization and Transfer—carried out knowledge transfer and sharing activities to build the necessary bridges between qualitative scientific research and preparation of a statistical survey by OCCQ. The science stream provided a conceptual framework, methodological tools (questionnaire), and a set of research result schematics, all of which served as inputs for the subsequent quantitative survey.

Co-construction or partnership

Preliminary discussions with officials at Ministère de la Culture et des Communications. Several meetings and workshops to share and transfer research results with researchers from Observatoire de la culture et des communications du Québec.
