Project description

As part of a collaborative INRS-Transports Quebec project, we are seeking a versatile and motivated individual to test, in both laboratory and field settings, the effectiveness of two innovative methods to improve fish passage success through culverts while minimizing additional flow resistance.

Start date and duration 

Spring or summer 2026 (flexible) for 2 years (1 year, renewable).

Research supervision

Jacob Stolle, Normand Bergeron and Eva Enders, INRS Professors

Required qualifications

  • PhD relevant to the project
  • Ability to conduct physical modelling in ecohydraulics and/or hydraulic engineering
  • Practical experience in fish ecology preferable
  • Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) experience, an asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Autonomy, rigour, teamwork, and a strong interest for innovation

$70,000 per year + benefits
