INRS offers various free and confidential services to members of its community experiencing personal, employment or academic difficulties, such as a self-help network, professional support and self-care tools. These resources are available, as the case may be, during working days or at any time.

The Employee and Student Assistance Program (PAEE)

The Employee and Student Assistance Program (PAEE) is a professional assistance service, provided by TELUS Santé, that is there to help solve your problems. You’ll get help and support for minor personal problems. For more complex problems, the assistance program should redirect you to other resources.

About

The PAEE is an immediate or short-term, confidential, no-cost professional counselling service that you can access at any time.

It helps people dealing with issues find solutions before the situation gets worse. The end goal is to help those seeking assistance to regain their personal well-being, health, and quality of life of as quickly as possible. Help is discreet and immediate. No one will know you are using the program, unless you tell them yourself.

Your INRS Employee and Student Assistance Program includes four (4) free hours per year from January 1 to December 31, all types of service combined :

  • Psychological support, Legal, Financial, Career guidance, Psychoeducation

On workdays

Psychological, psychosocial, and learning support service

For a crisis intervention, a one-time consultation or a psychological follow-up to discuss your situation, to explore avenues of resolution or recovery and to be directed to the most appropriate resource for your needs, you can contact the INRS professional assistance at cime.sesre@inrs.ca.

Insurance for private consultations

  • The Desjardins plan for international students offers a few meetings with a psychologist reimbursed up to a maximum of $500 per year. Check with your insurer.
  • The ASEQ group plan offers meetings with a psychologist or psychotherapist that are reimbursed up to a maximum of $500 per year, but you pay the first $50 for each visit. Check with your insurer.

Mental Health Allies Network

Need a listening ear? A member of the INRS community can listen to you, provide emotional and social support, and direct you to appropriate resources. The Mental Health Allies Network is made up of members of the staff and student community who act in a voluntary and confidential manner. These individuals are trained and supported to help those in need of psychological or psychosocial support.

A website that helps you assess how well you’re functioning and your level of well-being or distress. It also provides self-help tools, peer coaching, and immediate one-on-one counselling by chat. The goal is to support you on your mental health journey and help with any difficulties you may be facing due to isolation, physical health concerns, substance abuse, financial and employment issues, and emotionally charged discussions about racial equality.
