“It is a great honour to receive this award, but more importantly, it has been an extraordinary experience. I could not have done it without the help of my thesis supervisors, as well as my friends and family. I am very happy to continue my academic career at INRS alongside my new colleagues.”

Jacob Stolle

His doctoral thesis, “Debris Hazard Assessment in Extreme Flooding Events,” was supervised by Professors Ioan Nistor and Emil Petriu of the University of Ottawa, and Professor Nils Goseberg of the University of Braunschweig in Germany. His research focused on the design of tsunami-resistant infrastructure and on assessing the design conditions within tsunami events. His research included a field survey following the 2018 Palu (Indonesia) earthquake and tsunami.

Congratulations on receiving this prestigious medal!
