Tenure-track Position
The Eau Terre Environnement Research Centre of INRS (INRS-ETE), wishes to fill a position as professor specializing in materials or technologies for the energy transition within its joint research unit (UMR) with the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR). The position fits into the theme of the UMR and aims to meet societal and scientific expectations in the fight against climate change through the decarbonization of the economy, with a focus on batteries, hydrogen, recycling critical and strategic minerals or the capture and valorization of CO2.
The successful candidate will be attached to the assembly of professors of the Eau Terre Environnement Research Center and will work directly at UQTR within the UMR which brings together other members of the faculty attached to the Energy Materials Telecommunications Center of INRS and from the Department of Chemistry, Biochemistry and Physics of UQTR. The recruited person will take part in an interdisciplinary environment stimulated through research within the Energy Transition Valley Innovation Zone. The recruited person will contribute to the scientific program of this new UMR, while feeding the scientific program of the ETE Center in the area of environmental technologies.
The research program aims to explore emerging areas of the energy transition focusing on several key axes, including batteries and green hydrogen, innovative materials for electrodes and electrolytes, circular economy and waste recycling linked to the energy transition, technologies for the production and use of green hydrogen, as well as CO2 capture and recovery processes. This research combines physical, chemical and biological approaches for the synthesis and characterization of materials, while relying on numerical simulations to accelerate the discovery process and model energy systems.
The recruited person will be able to use existing infrastructures within the UMR or INRS, including the equipment available at the Environmental Technologies Laboratory, and in the long term will be able to use the infrastructures under development within the innovation zone or set up its own laboratory.
The working language is French. Advanced knowledge of English is fundamental.
