Professors Saeid Homayouni and Monique Bernier of the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) are ambassadors for this scientific conference in Québec City.
Québec City will jointly host the the 10th International Conference on Agro-Geoinformatics and the 43rd Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing.
Québec City will host the 10th International Conference on Agro-Geoinformatics. This is a first for Canada since the previous editions have been held in China, Turkey or the United States.
From July 12 to 14, 2022, more than 300 people from the scientific, student and political communities interested in remote sensing and geomatics for sustainable agriculture and development will gather at the Québec City Convention Centre. This will be an opportunity for the agro-geoinformatics community to exchange on the various expertise related to the field.
The impact of international scientific events
“Given the crucial role and impact of Canadian and Québec researchers in the agri-environmental uses of remote sensing and geomatics, we have decided to propose the joint organization of the 10th International Conference on Agro-Geoinformatics and the 43rd Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing in Québec City,” says Professor Saeid Homayouni in the release from the Québec City Convention Centre.
“Québec City has been a preferred destination for Québec, Canadian, and international conferences of our scientific community since the mid-1970s.”

She adds that this international event will be an excellent opportunity for regional and national professionals in agronomy, geomatics, and remote sensing to meet with scientists and see the latest research and technologies to promote sustainable agriculture and ecosystems.
“Hosting an international scientific conference in Québec City is very positive for the economy, for the reputation of our key industries, for the expertise of our scientific community, and all sectors of the tourism industry. We need champions like Mr. Homayoui and Ms. Bernier, proud ambassadors of the convention, who are willing to invest in hosting events,” concluded Pierre-Michel Bouchard, President and CEO of the Québec City Convention Centre.
The event is organized by the Canadian Remote Sensing Society (CRSS), in partnership with the Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS), one of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) societies.
Professor Homayouni and Professor Bernier will promote the conference during the 9th virtual edition which takes place from July 26 to 29, 2021.
