Intérêts de recherche

Les travaux du professeur Ouarda et son équipe portent sur l’estimation locale et régionale des événements hydrologiques extrêmes, les prévisions hydrologiques, la conception des réseaux de mesure, l’analyse de la variabilité spatiale et temporelle des variables hydrologiques, la modélisation de l’impact des changements climatiques sur la variables hydrométéorologiques, l’homogénéisation des séries de données, la modélisation de l’incertitude, le risque et la fiabilité en hydrologie, l’analyse des systèmes de ressources en eau, l’estimation des dommages d’inondation et l’évolution des régimes hydrologiques.

Le professeur Ouarda s’intéresse également au développement d’outils d’aide à la conception des ouvrages hydrauliques et à l’hydrologie statistique en milieu nordique, principalement à l’influence du couvert de glace sur la conception des réservoirs ou des biefs amont et à l’analyse des variables hydrologiques en milieu nordique dans un contexte de changements climatiques.
